Simply put a weed is just an unwanted plant. Normally these are plants we never intended to live in our front or backyard. Let’s start with a pro-tip: please only use selective herbicides on your lawn (Killex). Selective herbicides will only kill the weeds; non-selective (Round-Up) will kill any plant it touches.
To some clover is a weed, to others, it is a necessary nitrogen-stable pollinator food source. The dandelion is important for bees, but you may not want then in your lawn. There are also times when the weeds have taken over and the infestation requires some kind of chemical control.
